Greasing the Monkey
Still no job. Not that I've applied for any yet.
I've been working through the career/personality assessments from the Outplacement company and perusing a lot of employment sites. There aren't many jobs for my skillset, most programming jobs seem to be for web programming positions. But there are a few, that I'll be applying for soon.

Meanwhile, I'm looking after the kids a lot. Or kid, at the moment, since Thomas is in Wales on a camping trip with the Scouts. Daniel and I baked some cheesy biscuits. He wanted to make fairy cakes, but we don't have any self-raising flour (or raising agents). I've told him that they're fairy cheesy biscuits.

To keep my programming muscles working, I've installed Greasemonkey, a Firefox add-on that lets you run your own Javascript scripts on web pages to alter them. I've never used Javascript before, but it seems pretty straightforward. I've written something to let me ljcut long entries on my LJ friends list. Mainly to ljcut Feeds from blogs that are interesting to read once, but are always very long...

Cool! I can stop using cuts now!!!

I don't think I've ever had fairy cheesy biscuits. By the sound of them, I'm thinking they're quite tasty.

They're very tasty. Made with real fairies to add a bit of crunch.
Though the cheese we used this time wasn't as crumbly as usual, so it didn't disperse through the biscuits as well as normal. Not that big cheesy lumps in the biscuits is a bad thing.

And, yeah, you can now make posts as long as you like without living in mortal fear of offending my delicate sensibilities. I can just click a button and banish all your words behind a cut. I can even click it again and bring you back... :)

fairy cakes? I'm thinking this is just another name for what Americans call cupcakes, but is there a special recipe for them?

Yes, it's cupcakes. Just a simple sponge cake mix put into little cases. Quite why we call it a fairy cake I have no idea. :)

But it needs some kind of raising agent (or self-raising flour) and I don't have any in the house. I offered to take him to the shop, but he wasn't keen (probably since it's raining).

HELLO!

It dawned on us 2 days ago that we missed Kathy's b-day!! Bum! Very sorry! :/

BUT we have a card already (just need to post) and so would like to know if she has anything she would like for a b-day?

BTW, would Dan like a Dalek cookie cutter? :)

We'll forgive you. :) In return we can forget your wedding anniversary - it's around now isn't it???

She'd probably like a running top (size 10/12) (she's started a running training program :o ), otherwise I'm not sure.
Dan's not really into Doctor Who, he just likes the biscuits. Thomas might be more keen.
