Snow!
I reckon we got about 3 inches.
I'm staying at home today.
Thomas might be too, but the school phone is engaged so we don't know if it's open or not.

I suppose you guys don't have snow removal equipment.

I've got a shovel. :)

We've got gritters and snow ploughs, but this is the heaviest snow across the south-east of England for 20 years. Some places not too far away had 11 inches overnight and it's been snowing all day. There's a minor blizzard outside at the moment.

We're not used to driving in it. Lots of problems are being caused by lorries jack-knifing and cars skidding into each other.

Thomas's school is open today, but we kept him off. I remember trudging through blizzards and waist-deep snow drifts[*] to get to school when I was a kid, but then we were made of sterner stuff in those days. :)

[*] admittedly my waist was a lot nearer the ground in those days.
