Am now a Domestic Goddess
I took the day off today and in the morning Daniel and I baked some cheesy biscuits.
Very cheesy, there was as much Stilton in them as flour.

We followed a Nigella recipe, but they turned out more like cheesy puffs than biscuits. I suspect I didn't roll out the dough thinly enough. Possibly because I had to roll them out with a pint glass. I'm sure we used to have a rolling pin, but we don't now.

Anyway, they're still very nice and rather moreish. And Daniel was very helpful. :)

Back when I was a student, I used a empty wine bottle for a rolling pin. It sort of worked, as long as I didn't try to roll too wide an area.

It was cheapo Sainsbury's Stilton, so not very stinky. Not stinky enough really. I might try it again with a more robust variety or possibly with some extra mature Cheddar.

I think I'll buy a rolling pin next time I go to the big supermarket. I imagine they're extremely cheap. I could do with a chopping board too, to roll it out on - we've got a flat plate, but it wasn't ideal. I could use a worktop, but then I'd need to clean it.
